Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is set to host the Miss World Malaysia 2023 pageant after successfully hosted it last year for the first time.
The Miss World Malaysia 2023 grand final will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre on August 25, with an anticipated turnout of 1,500 attendees.
This will be followed up with the Hyperlive Festival Malaysia Charity Gala and Awards Dinner at Pacific Sutera Hotel Ballroom on the next day August 26.
Dr. Sean Wong, the CEO of Hyperlive Entertainment and national director of Miss World Malaysia, unveiled the exciting developments for Miss World Malaysia 2023 Beauty Festival, a part of the HyperLive Festival Malaysia, at a press conference on June 28 at Pacific Sutera Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.
“The Miss World Malaysia 2023 Beauty Festival will provide contestants with extraordinary opportunities to engage in numerous charity activities and projects, dedicated to transforming lives and offering hope to those in need,” he said.
“The collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah further amplifies the impact of this prestigious event, uniting exceptional young women from across Malaysia to make a tangible difference in the lives of others,” he added.
Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew was the guest of honour at the press conference.
Also present at the event were Kota Kinabalu City Hall director general Junainah Abbie, Love Vibrant Kota Kinabalu chairman and MICCI vice chairman 1 Datuk Susan Chang, Fantastic Golden (the official licensee of Miss World Malaysia) managing director Eric Goh, Fantastic Golden business development director Bernard Chow, Miss World Malaysia 2022 Wenanita Angang and Pacific Sutera Hotel, Sutera Harbour Resort general manager Gerry D’Cruz.
Wong revealed that the contestants would spend nine days immersed in a series of exhilarating challenges and activities, including fashion shows, talent showcases, charity drives, head-to-head challenges and sports competitions.
This year’s Miss World Malaysia events will be captured in a 6-episode reality series, available exclusively on iQIYI platform, the official broadcasting partner.
“The fundraising gala aims to make a significant difference by supporting deserving beneficiaries and channeling raised funds towards causes that are dear to the organizers, directly impacting the lives of those in need,” Wong added.
Sabah-based Fantastic Golden Sdn Bhd is the official licencee of Miss World Malaysia beauty pageant.
The Miss World Malaysia 2023 pageant is co-presented by WSG Group, Airworld Travel and Tours, Regas Premium Sabah and De Glamz Academy, with the support of partners and sponsors, including Sabah International Convention Centre (official venue), Sutera Harbour Resort (official hotel), Ceres Jewels (official jewellery), Universal Music and Beam Artistes.
