Jasebel Robert, 25, of mixed Indian and Chinese ancestry, from Kuala Lumpur has been named Miss Grand Malaysia 2020.
Miss Grand Malaysia Organisation has adopted a comprehensive virtual interview process and public vote in determining the winner due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 173cm (5’ 8”) tall stunning beauty is elated and excited to represent the country at Miss Grand International 2020 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand on 27th March 2021 where more than 50 countries are expected to participate.
Jasebel said, “This truly came in as the best gift welcoming in the new year. I would like to thank the organization for entrusting me with this responsibility and not forgetting those who has helped me throughout the journey until today.
“As the world is still battling with the Covid-19 pandemic, I will use this opportunity to highlight my advocacy which is relevant to this time and age.”
Her advocacy on equality and education for all regardless race, sex and status, coupled with the cessation of all war and violence, especially domestic violence is a relevant topic during this period. And this will be made possible leveraging on social media and digital collaboration to engage to a wider audience.
Jasebel is a mass communications graduate from HELP University and is multilingual, being able to speak English, Malay, Mandarin and Chinese dialect Teochew. She believes that knowledge is the key to success and inspires her to learn new languages and cultures including Thai and Spanish.
