One of the most looked forward to events in Ipoh is finally here!
The International Ipoh Fashion Week (IIFW) 2023, celebrating its 5th season was announced at a press conference held at Royal Perak Golf Club, Ipoh on Sept 5, 2023.
The official countdown has now begun with this year’s show taking place on Dec 1-3, 2023.
The IIFW 2023 will combine fashion with charitable cause with the theme “Fashion Tourism with a Heart”.
IIFW will showcase new and upcoming talent from Malaysia and well beyond, highlighting all of the latest trends and innovative designs.
This year, IIFW will walk the runway at three different venues across the three days, with each day being hosted in a different venue – Royal Perak Golf Club Ipoh (Day 1), street fashion in Ipoh Old Town (Day 2) and Lumut Waterfront Maritime (Day 3).
Both events on Day 2 and 3 are outdoor events open to the public.
The Red Carpet Royal Charity gala dinner on Dec 1, 2023 at the Royal Perak Golf Club Ipoh will feature a 8-course dinner, runway fashion show and entertainment.
It will be graced by HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima and Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya.
This year, the charity gala event will raise funds to purchase adequate equipment for the Paediatric High Dependency Unit (PHDU) at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh and Hospital Seri Manjung, a district specialist hospital within Perak state.
Last year, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Ipoh received RM104,000 worth of medical equipment which were purchased from funds raised through the Red Carpet Charity Gala Dinner of IIFW 2022.
Louis Sebastian, the founder of IIFW stated during the press conference: “IIFW Season 5 holds great promise as we strive to surpass our previous achievements. We are excited to bring together fashion, tourism, charity, and community once again, creating a platform where creativity meets compassion.”
Louis added: “The inclusive show will feature the latest fashion from emerging fashion designers along with renowned fashion labels and powerhouses from Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Singapore, India and Philippines.”
A sit-down 8-course Chinese set dinner tables (10 seater) are priced at RM3,000, RM5,000 and RM8,000 per table. There are two sponsorship packages available; Orchid (RM50, 000) for 8 seater and Bunga Raya (RM30,000) for 10 seater.
“We urge the people, especially corporate to lend their full support to the event as part of our social responsibility effort,” Louis added.
Dr Siti Aishah Saidin, the head of Department of Paediatrics Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB), Ipoh said: “We aim to open six additional PHDU beds in HRPB once we have adequate staffing and equipment and also planning to open 20 additional PHDU beds in our District Specialist Hospitals, to improve the care of critically ill children managed in these centres.
“Although treatment costs to patients are minimal, with the majority of the cost being subsidised by the government; the monitoring of these children in the PHDU require the use of various types of equipment such as noninvasive ventilators, ICU monitors, transport incubators and point-of-care blood analysers.”
Dr Siti Aishah added: “We are always grateful for more equipment that will enhance our services and enable us to provide better care. A major focus in the near term is to develop Paediatric High Dependency Unit services in HRPB and Seri Manjung and other specialist hospitals in Perak.”
“As paediatrician, we welcome the continuous effort by International Ipoh Fashion Week and the general public in supporting these children and their families.”
The IIFW 2023 is being organised by Bizzness Management Services with a two-pronged objective of showcasing Perak/Malaysia-based fashion talent globally and at the same time welcoming the world to the wonders of Perak. It is supported by Perak state government, Tourism Perak, Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) and other state agencies.
