Indonesian horror movie ‘Mangkujiwo 2’ opens in cinemas starting Feb 9

TGV Pictures has announced that the Indonesian horror movie “Mangkujiwo 2” will be released in local cinemas starting Feb 9, 2023.

Mangkujiwo 2 is a sequel to the spooky 2020 film ‘Mangkujiwo’ continuing the previous story of the death mystery of Tjokro Kusumo.

Starring Sujiwo Tejo, Yasamin Jasem and Djenar Maesa Ayu, the film tells the story of Uma who, after Cokrokusumo’s death, tries to deal with the trauma while looking for answers to the mystery of Kuntilanak’s involvement in her life. Meanwhile, Brotoseno, Nyi Kenanga, and Karmila are taking heinous methods to bring Mangkujiwo to the pinnacle of glory, where blood will again be spilled.

The film’s supporting cast also includes the likes of Karina Suwandi, Marthino Lio, Kiki Narendra, Widika Sidmore, Yayu Unru, Pritt Timothy, Ibnu Gundul, Sara Wijayanto, Kimberly Ryder and Yuyun Arfah.

The film is a production of MVP Pictures directed by same director Azhar Kinoi Lubis in the first “Mangkujiwo” film.

Sujiwo Tejo and Yasamin Jasem also starred in the first “Mangkujiwo” film.

With a running time of two hours, the Indonesian-language film with English subtitle has been classified as ‘18’. This category is for viewers aged 18 and above.
