Hong Kong rock pioneers Tai Chi band will return to Malaysia with their “2025 Tai Chi 40th Anniversary Tour Concert” performing at Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on November 22, 2025.
The one-night show marks an extraordinary milestone for the band, celebrating four decades of music, passion and memories shared with Malaysian fans.
The band is composed of five members – lead vocalist Patrick Lui, guitarist and lead vocalist Joey Tang, guitarist Ernest Lau, bass guitarist Eddy Sing and drummer Ricky Chu.
Formed in 1985, Tai Chi took the Hong Kong music scene by storm with their breakthrough debut “Red Lips in the Storm” at the Carlsberg Pop Music Festival, clinching the championship title and officially stepping into the limelight.
Their first EP “Red Sports Car” quickly won them a devoted following and in the years that followed, albums such as Lost, Thoughts and Silent Storm cemented their reputation as pioneers of Cantonese rock.
Over the years, Tai Chi’s music has captured the spirit of an era, from the youthful rebellion of “Red Sports Car” to the timeless anthem “Every Single Word”, from the raw power of “Stay With Me” to the explosive energy of “All Mankind Sing Along”, which stormed the charts in 1988 and set new benchmarks for Hong Kong rock.
Although the band once considered disbanding after key members left, an unforgettable performance at a radio awards ceremony reignited their passion when they were moved by the audience’s overwhelming response. It was then they decided, instead of saying goodbye, they would celebrate with fans through a global 40th anniversary concert tour.
“This tour is our way of saying thank you to every fan who has been part of our journey. For 40 years, your voices have carried our music, now we want to celebrate that connection, louder and stronger than ever,” said Tai Chi in a statement.
Tickets for 2025 Tai Chi Band 40th Anniversary Tour Concert will go on pre-sale for Genting Rewards Card (GRC) Gold members and above from Sept 22 at 12pm, with public sales starting on Sept 29 at 12pm.
Tickets are priced at RM 528 (VIP), RM398 (PS1), RM298 (PS2) and RM118 (PS3). GRC members will enjoy an exclusive 10% discount for VIP to PS2 categories.
