Nescafe Malaysia’s first-ever 100% home-grown coffee Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah returns with this year’s harvest following positive customer feedback to the product.
The first edition of Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah made with 100% locally grown coffee beans was launched in December last year under the Nescafe Grown Respectfully Programme, a sustainable coffee farming initiative launched in 2019 in Kedah.
The latest limited-edition of Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah comes with a refreshed packaging design in 170g aluminium tin that is poised to expand its reach and boosting brand awareness.
To mark its return, the food and beverage (F&B) manufacturer is hosting a contest “Peraduan Nescafe Jom Semai Kopi” to give five lucky winners of an all-expenses paid trip to an actual coffee farm in Kedah.
Nestle Malaysia business executive officer, beverages unit, Othman Chraibi said the company is committed to supporting Malaysian coffee farmers and local communities via its Grown Respectfully programme that they hold close to their hearts.
“We are pleased to note that the launch of our Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah last year received a very positive response from consumers, with many keen to learn more about our local coffee farming initiative. This was how the idea of bringing consumers to our actual coffee farm came to life,” he said.
Chraibi added, “In line with this and as part of our commitment to connect with consumers through memorable experiences, we are excited to invite few happy Malaysians who are true coffee enthusiasts to witness first-hand the great care and respect that goes into our Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah, particularly showcasing our coffee farmers who are growing the very coffee beans that are at the heart of this product. They will get the opportunity to meet and interact with the farmers, as well as trying their hand at planting, grafting and harvesting coffee.”
The Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah is a product of the sustainable coffee farming initiative under the Nescafe Grown Respectfully Programme, aimed at revitalising the local coffee sector and uplifting the livelihoods of local farmers. The initiative provides training on good agricultural practices to equip the farmers with the necessary technical expertise to produce high-quality coffee beans, allowing Malaysians to enjoy the authentic local coffee taste they love. To date, the programme has engaged with over 200 farmers and planted up to 170,000 plantlets.
Coffee lovers eager to visit the birthplace of Nescafe Classic Kopi Kedah can take part in Peraduan Nescafe Jom Semai Kopi contest from November 1 to December 31, 2021.
