In conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY), a 19-day “Horseperity Market” (马上来市集) to celebrate the Year of the Horse with sights, sounds and flavours of the festival is taking place from Feb 4-22, 2026 at the outdoor plaza of Hextar World Empire City, Petaling Jaya.

Horseperity Market, jointly organised by Bungkuslab Connect and Zen Capital, presents the public with a festive urban experience that blends culture, lifestyle and social engagement into a vibrant CNY celebration.
The market features 45 stalls and booths for food, drinks, crafts and shopping. Stroll the stalls and explore a wide array of renowned brands, including MixStore, Hokee, MoneyX, World Gourmet, Hai Di Lao, Kopi Hut, Kanika (Malaysia), Joymom, Cuckoo and Public Bank.

The market also features a diverse lineup of cultural activities that blend tradition and modernity, including live bands, traditional music and instrumental performances, lion dance performances and God of Prosperity blessing rituals.
There are also family-friendly interactive games and experiential activities, as well as Visit Malaysia 2026 mascot parade.

The official opening ceremony took place on February 11, 2026, officiated by Hextar Group founder and chairman Dato’ Ong Soon Ho with group chief executive officer Dato’ Eddie Ong.
Set against a lively and festive Chinese New Year atmosphere, the ceremony symbolised an auspicious start and strong community togetherness.

Guided by the curatorial concept of “Culture × Lifestyle × Social Connection”, Horseperity Market transcends the conventional buying-and-selling framework of traditional markets.
Instead, it emphasises spatial experience, content curation and meaningful human interaction, aiming to create a welcoming public space where people are encouraged to linger, connect and share the joy of the festive season.

The ceremony not only marked the grand opening of Horseperity Market but also symbolised the strengthening bond between urban communities, brands and the public, ushering in a year filled with hope, positivity and vibrant energy.
Bungkuslab Connect founder Kenzo Lim said that the choice of venue was not solely based on its contemporary architectural design, but more importantly, its rare sense of openness and comfort within the urban environment.
“In a high-density city, spaces that allow people to stroll leisurely, interact comfortably, and even pause to work briefly are rare. Hextar World Empire City offers a refreshing sense of spaciousness and comfort, which is essential for a market experience,” he said.

Kenzo added that the venue’s relaxed and open atmosphere perfectly complements the curatorial vision of Horseperity Market, allowing the market to resonate organically with the space instead of merely occupying it.
He emphasised that Horseperity Market is not driven solely by scale or short-term footfall, but aspires to create a low-risk incubation platform for nurturing talent and brands.
“We want the market to be a practical learning ground for startups, allowing local original brands to test their positioning and market response in real conditions.”
Kenzo further noted that for established mid-to-high-tier brands, participating in the market provides an opportunity to break out of their conventional circles, fostering collaborations and creative synergies alongside emerging local brands.
He also stressed that Horseperity Market does not subscribe to the notion of being labelled as a “premium night market.”
“A market is not a high-end bazaar. It is a B2B and B2C interaction platform formed by people, spaces and merchants – a social ecosystem,” he said.
In tandem with Hextar World Empire City’s curated CNY programmes, Horseperity Market’s festive cultural activities seamlessly blend tradition and modernity, creating a lively and immersive experience both indoors and outdoors.
Through the integrated programming, visitors can enjoy a full spectrum of festive experiences, ensuring that both the mall and outdoor market spaces remain vibrant and engaging – delivering a truly enjoyable and leisurely CNY celebration.
Zen Capital founder and organizer Regine Lim remarked that brands at Horseperity Market do more than operate booths that they become integral components of the overall festive lifestyle narrative, co-creating a holistic CNY experience together with the space and community.
In his opening address, Hextar Group chief executive officer Eddie Ong extended early festive greetings to all distinguished guests and highlighted the emerging era of resource integration and platform sharing. He emphasised that businesses today no longer operate in silos, but grow through collaborative platforms that enable mutual success.
“This ecosystem empowers emerging young entrepreneurs to leverage the resources and expertise of established enterprises, accelerating their growth and unlocking greater opportunities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zen Capital founder and organizer Lawrence Choong expressed appreciation to 160 business leaders who attended the ceremony, noting that their presence not only boosted confidence among participating vendors but also allowed brands to witness firsthand the dynamic business ecosystem fostered by Horseperity Market.
