Malaysia’s Queen of Rock Ella, whose real name is Norzila Aminuddin, delivered mesmerising performances on her first night of the ‘Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota’ concert at the Axiata Arena indoor stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
It was an unforgettable concert experience for more than 10,000 fans in a three-hour show as Ella performed 35 of her biggest hits, representing her 35 years in the music industry.
“Tonight will remain as one of my sweetest memories after being in the music industry for more than 35 years. I’m beyond thankful for all the love and constant support from my fans.
“I wouldn’t be here without the support from all of you who have stood by me from the beginning until today.
“Don’t worry and pray that I’ll continue to rock your world as long as I’m able to do so,” said Ella to a long roar of applause.
Ella performed her greatest hits such as Sembilu, Pengemis Cinta, Tiada Tangis Lagi, Kesal, Sepi Sekuntum Mawar Merah, Cinta Selembut Sutera, Dua Insan Bercinta, Standing In The Eyes Of The World, and Peace Love Rindu.
The singer treated fans to two guest performances: rock star Amy Search on the first day and Datuk Ramli Sarip, also known as ‘Papa Rock’, on the second day.
The now-56-year-old Klang-born artiste has gained a record-breaking entry into the Malaysia Book of Records for being the first local artiste to sell out concert tickets within 24 hours in Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil.
She received her certificate from the Malaysia Book of Records on the first day of the concert.
Organised by Hitman Solutions together with Ella’s management company, RockQueen, the concert kept fans on their feet throughout concert.
Hitman Solutions chief executive officer Rohit Rampal said Ella has been the benchmark of excellence in the music industry and a true Malaysian icon.
“So, it was only apt that this concert, to celebrate her 35th year anniversary, something monumental as a thank you to all her fans.
“We also surprised fans with LED wristbands that contain light-emitting diodes and radio frequency receivers that can be programmed by the concert’s show director to coordinate the lights based on the songs.
“And Ella is the first local artist to incorporate the usage of Xylobands for concerts in Malaysia,” he said.
