If you are an anime, manga, cosplay or video game lover, you will have a reason to visit a new anime event which make its debut this weekend.
Organized by Cosplay Fantasy, the inaugural Cosplay Carnival will be held at the centre concourse of 3 Damansara shopping mall, Petaling Jaya on October 15-16.
With Halloween approaching, the event is the fun way to get into the creepy mood to celebrate the spooky season.
Expect to find some terrifying cosplay with fans dressed up in Halloween-themed or frightening costumes to get everyone into the right mood for the occasion.
The spook-tacular event will run from 10 am-10 pm.
Entry is free so you will not have to wait in the long entrance lines or queue up to buy a ticket.
“We’re very excited to announce that we will be hosting the very first Cosplay Carnival at 3 Damansara,” said Cosplay Fantasy founder Leon Kung.
He said that the event will focus more on introducing people to the world of indie scenes within the Japanese 2D (two-dimensional) culture.
“Motivated by the love of their favourite series, these indie creators can come up with many interesting works that will get everyone excited.
“Through this event, I am hoping for a bigger exposure into such culture that shapes multiple successful creators,” said Kung.
The Cosplay Carnival will offer cosplay runway competition, stage performances, special Amelia Anisong concert, guest cosplayers, doujin booths, cosplay booths, exhibitor booths, all-day-long gaming, as well as food vendors to provide a slew of exciting food and drinks options to attendees.
Invited cosplay guests at the event include Angie0_0 and Amelia Khor.
Fans can meet and greet all 35 of their favourite cosplay idols to get their autographs while enjoying exclusive merchandise at the Cosplay Alley.
Vtuber DJ Taka Kazuki hailing from the Malaysia VTube Community (MYVT) will take the stage to bring live DJ remixes at the Rave Party on Oct 15 starting from 4pm.
On Oct 16, there will be a special panel talk by comic artist Ernest Ng, author of “Bro Don’t Like That La Bro” who will share his journey creating “Covidball Z”.
Those who want to enjoy a drink or food and be pampered by lovely maids, there is the Nijikaeri Maid Cafe which is opened for pre-booking table and operates from 11am – 7pm.
