A NFT comic artist community “Comicker Universe NFT” announced the launching of a series of NFT fundraising for charitable organisations.
Comicker Universe NFT spokesperson Lau Shaw Ming said the group came together to kickstart their first passion project through sales of crypto art in the form of NFT (non-fungible token) for an animal shelter, Homeless and Orphan Pet Exist (HOPE), with 50% of NFT sales to be donated to the HOPE organisation.
“We hope to offer our contribution to disadvantages groups through our art,” he said.
“Here, we feature 12 of these invited Malaysian artists, each of whom will create a cat and a dog NFT with each artwork to be minted and limited to only 50 units. We therefore hope to reach a fundraising target of RM30,000.00,” said Lau, who is also president of Malaysian Comicker Union.
The 12 participating artists are CKOH, Cporing, iAdoptedACat, Pee Yong Diary, Relaxed Comics, Joonong, Nixon Siow, Black Jelly Fish, Redcode, WMM, Gloom Drone and Meteor1991.
The HOPE series of NFT collection minted on Polygon blockchain is now available for purchase on NFT trading platform Opensea from Nov 7, 2021 and the sale is expected to end on Dec 31, 2021.
Lau said all unsold NFT listings will be burned to ensure buyers’ collection value.
Comicker Universe NFT is a Discord community organised by a group of Malaysian comic artists engaged in NFT creation with the main objective of promoting NFT works by Malaysian comic artists. Comicker Universe NFT is the first NFT comic community endorsed by the Malaysia Comicker Union.
