Christal Wong, an architect, took home the title of Miss Petite Universe International Semenanjung 2021 Central Region at the pageant grand finale at The Great Campbell Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Dec 5, 2021.
The 23-year-old, 155 cm (5’ 1”) tall lass also grabbed two other subsidiary titles for Best Talent and Best Advocacy.
“I’m feeling incredibly humbled and grateful. With the crown, it comes with great responsibilities. I humbly take this as a role to empower and to advocate,” she said, adding, “It has been a journey learning and growing with the girls.”
Christal said she is thankful for the people who had supported her in her journey.
“I’m giving credits to my loved ones, coaches and the pageant girls, and people who believes in me for the crown I am wearing.”
The win is the beginning step for Christal in achieving a balanced life.
She said, “Learning to balance between work, pageantry and rest. I’ve got to learn what’s on top priority so I will show up mentally and physically prepared for all pageantry trainings. Embracing the need to rest and to recover. It is just or more important than hustling.”
“We did it guys! The crown is not just mine, it belongs to all of us,’ said first runner-up Darsha Nair, a 21-year-old international business student from Shah Alam.
The 163 cm (5’ 4”) tall lass also took home the Popular Choice subsidiary title.
She expressed her gratitude to people who have shown their support.

Darsha also thanked her coaches, pageant queens and judges for the much-needed lessons, tips and for believing in her ability to capture the crown.
Second runner-up Millet Wong, 19, a part-time fashion model expressed surprise she made it to the Top 3.
“I really felt surprised and excited. I thought that I would only be at Top 5 so it was really quite unexpected,” she said.
Millet also won two subsidiary titles – Best Walk and Miss Social Media
“I will keep on learning and improving my Q&A and catwalk skills for the upcoming national pageant,” she added.
The winners were selected by a panel of judges who included Super Model Universe Malaysia national director Ammetta Malhotra, Le Fashion Secret managing director and supermodel Sharwita Wita, Bookd! CEO and co-founder Carl Graham, branding guru Dr Zyro Wong and Beast Cosmetics founder Jasrina Jasni.
Miss Petite Universe International Semenanjung (MPUIS) 2021 Central Region regional director Nwabuike Uchechukwu congratulated the girls for their performances and taking the stage for new experiences.
He said the top three winners will go on to represent the Semenanjung Central Region at the Miss Petite Universe International Malaysia national pageant, scheduled for next year in Sarawak.
Pageant partners were Chidorri Wellness Spa (health and wellness), Buga Buga (food & beverage), Bookd Talent (talent), SirKliff Design (graphic design), Iconcept Creative (marketing agency), Zuraidah Said Creation (evening gown) and Elle Nasha Couture (evening gown), among others.
