Over 240 old folks, orphans, OKU and single mothers enjoyed an evening of music and food specially dedicated to them at the Dazzling Stars Musicale Night, a charity fund-raising dinner held at Hee Loi Ton Restaurant in Petaling Jaya on 9 July 2017.
The charitable program touched the hearts of many and raised RM20,000 for four beneficiaries, namely Charis Elderly Home, Ampang (RM5,000), Pusat Jagaan Sehati, Sungai Long (RM5,000), spinocerebellar ataxia patient Lee Pooi Yee (RM5,000) and hearing impaired patient Chang Weng Yew (RM5,000).
Organised jointly by Mrs Tourism Queen International Pageant and Lotus Heart Association, the night’s entertainment showcased a bevy of beauty queens, recording artistes and voice talent champions who graced the stage singing and dancing their hearts out for a good cause. Among the performers were Datin Maylene Yong, Treise Yong, Selina Gan, Lau Kit Mun, Daniel Tang and Irene Wong.
After a feast of 8-course Chinese cuisine and being entertained with all the evergreen songs, the floor was opened to the special guests to join in singing and dancing along with the hosts.
“We are thankful for the financial aid that will go towards improving the lives of the older adults and the underprivileged. This event aims to show that true beauty comes from within. Being a beauty queen doesn’t mean just having a beautiful face but also a truly caring heart that goes beyond our skin,” said Tourism Queen International 2017 pageant director and Mrs Malaysia World 2015 Jenet Foo.
Lotus Heart Association organising coordinator Danny Liew said: “It was a most memorable experience for our special guests. We make them feel loved, wanted and special and we want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in making a big difference to their lives.”
Lotus Heart Association is a non-profit organisation registered in 2016 and depends on donations and sponsors for resources to carry out various charitable activities. Those who wish to contribute to the community may contact Lotus Heart Association organising coordinator Danny Liew at 012-222 7326.
