Heineken Malaysia recently raised RM1.86 million for a primary school to help upgrade the school’s facilities and amenities, through its Tiger Sin Chew Chinese Education Charity Concert.
In a statement, the company said it has once again hosted its annual social impact program, the Tiger Sin Chew Chinese Education Charity Concert (Tiger CECC) at SJKC Han Ming, Puchong and successfully raised over RM1.86 million.
“As a platform to bring communities together, the concert enabled parents, alumni and local communities in Puchong to play a role in improving the school’s teaching and learning environment,” the statement said.
“As a responsible and progressive brewer, Heineken Malaysia is proud of our long and enduring partnership through Tiger Sin Chew Chinese Education Charity Concert that has raised over RM361 million since 1994.
“Through the Tiger CECC platform, we believe we are able to inspire a better world by allowing the schools to flourish and thrive through an improved educational environment,” Heineken Malaysia Bhd managing director Roland Bala said in the statement.
SJKC Han Ming board of directors chairman Dato’ Wong Pau San said the fund raised will help contribute to the first phase of the school’s three-year plan to raise RM5 million for the construction of a new administrative block and a multi-purpose area for student activities.
Artistes who performed at the concert included Michelle Hsieh, also known as Little Teresa Teng from Taiwan, and Malaysia’s top Hokkien singer Freddie Huang Yi Fei.
The statement continued that the annual event has cumulatively raised more than RM361 million for schools across Malaysia since it was first organized in 1994. This year, SJKC Han Ming, Puchong is one of the eight schools that hosted the Tiger Sin Chew Chinese Education Charity Concert.
