Celebrate the Chinese New Year with limited-edition KitKat Golden Dragon

Nestle’s KitKat has introduced a limited-edition KitKat Golden Dragon confectionary to usher in the Chinese New Year 2024 – Year of the Dragon, which starts on Feb 10.

The official launch event, held at Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur on Jan 9, 2024, was celebrated with a dragon dance performance.

The new confectionary combines the zesty orange flavour with the sweet creamy milk chocolate, all encased in the iconic crispy KitKat wafer.

KitKat is manufactured in a factory in Chembong, Negeri Sembilan, and is the first KitKat worldwide to use the ‘farbling’ technology (combination of fading and marbling technology) to create a stunning Dragon-scale pattern on the chocolate.

The intricate design, inspired by the mythical Dragon scales, is brought to life in shades of golden yellow and red.  The visually striking KitKat Golden Dragon truly capture the spirit of the Dragon, a symbol associated with power, luck and prosperity in Chinese culture, making it the perfect treat for the festive season.

Carlota Casellas, the business executive officer of Nestle Confectionery said, “The introduction of this creation signifies a momentous milestone for us, as Malaysia is the first market in the world to roll out this new KitKat chocolate made with farbling technology.

“We are thrilled to present Malaysians with an unparalleled snacking experience that not only aligns with KitKat’s iconic slogan, ‘Have a break, Have a KitKat’.

The KitKat Golden Dragon edition offers a range of collections, including the KitKat 4 fingers single, share bag, CNY gifting metal tin, customised festive Cele-break pack, and the KitKat x Malaysian artists edition multipurpose bag exclusively designed in collaboration with local artists, Cassey Gan and Cloakwork.

As part of this exciting lineup, KitKat also introduced KitKat U ZU ice cream, featuring a yuzu-flavoured coating, topped with crushed wafer and dried oranges, adding a delightful twist to the KitKat experience.

In conjunction with the CNY celebration, Nestle also holds a KitKat LÓNGevity Contest, which runs until Feb 20, 2024.

With a minimum purchase of RM10 worth of KitKat chocolates and/or KitKat ice cream, participants will stand a chance to win prizes valued at over RM318,888, including 2 units of BYD Dolphin Electric Cars worth RM99,900 each, cash prizes, Touch ‘n Go eWallet Reload Pins and Grab e-vouchers.
