Celebrate pride, unity and fun at MR DIY’s Merdeka Bazaar, Aug 30-Sept 1, 2024

The 3-day Merdeka Bazaar by MR DIY Group Bhd with 100 booths, games and mini-concert aims to celebrate the unity and national pride of all Malaysians in conjunction with Malaysia’s 67th Merdeka Day.

The home-improvement retailer MR D.I.Y Group Bhd is set to make Merdeka Day celebrations extra special this year with its first-ever Merdeka Bazaar held at Piazza of Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur from Aug 30 to Sept 1, 2024.

Themed ‘Bersama Satu Suara, the bazaar aims to celebrate the unity and national pride of all Malaysians in conjunction with Merdeka.

MR D.I.Y Group’s head of marketing Alex Goh said, “The ‘Bersama Satu Bazaar’ is all about celebrating our pride and unity as Malaysians in a fun and engaging event.

“The lineup of activities promises something for everyone and will create lasting memories for every visitor – all of which make it a beautiful way to celebrate Malaysia and being Malaysian.”

Goh said the bazaar was conceptualized as a way of providing local vendors, entrepreneurs, artists and performers a platform to come together and showcase their talents and products, whilst providing an unforgettable shopping experience for Malaysians.

“Our unique Malaysian DNA is something we treasure at MR DIY, and this event is our way of sharing it with all Malaysians to celebrate Malaysia’s 67th birthday together,” he added.

The 3-day bazaar features over 100 booths showcasing some of Malaysia’s most popular local food vendors as well as products from MR D.I.Y Group’s own brands – MR DIY, MR TOY, EMTOP and MR DOLLAR.

There are also handmade accessories, stationery, cosmetics and crafts primarily by Malaysian entrepreneurs and vendors, as well as fun games, creative workshops and exciting performances.

A must-visit feature of the bazaar is the Unity Gallery, an art exhibition showcasing the work of some of Malaysia’s most promising young artists.

There will be a mini concert happening on Merdeka Day, Aug 31 at 8.30 pm with special performance by celebrities Alif Satar & The Locos, Jaclyn Victor and Priscilla Abby, who will sing the MR DIY-initiated patriotic anthem ‘Bersama Satu Suara’.

The first 1,000 visitors to visit the Bazaar and complete the Bazaar Passport challenge daily will receive a complimentary tote bag. They also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes worth up to RM12,000.
