Statistics show that one in 19 women in Malaysia are at risk for breast cancer, which is why Pink October is vital to raise awareness about breast cancer and educate more women about the importance of prevention and early detection.
In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the National Cancer Council (Makna) will be holding a Pink October exhibition to educate people and raise cancer awareness at Level 1, Intermark Mall, Kuala Lumpur.
From October 24 to 30, the exhibition will provide a VR experience to learn more about breast health care and preventive measure, as well as clinical breast examination by trained nurses.
There will also be exclusive Makna merchandise items on sale such as t-shirts, collar pins and face masks, with the proceeds going to cancer research, prevention, cure and treatment, and assist women affected financially due to the disease.
