BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in Malaysia, shifts into high gear by rapidly expanding its premium retail and aftersales network making electric mobility more accessible.
It now has over 40 showrooms nationwide, and is on track to have 34 aftersales touchpoints in 2026 upon the completion of 9 new service centres.

Beyond the urban centres, BYD has extended to the south in Johor, with the opening of BYD Muar and BYD Kluang outlets, while on the East Coast, BYD Kuala Terengganu is newly set up, in addition to existing outlets in Kuantan and Kota Bahru.
The northern region saw strong expansion with BYD Sungai Petani, BYD Juru and the BYD Ipoh 3S Centre which features the city’s first dedicated EV charging hub equipped with 240kWh and 180kWh DC chargers.
In the central region, the BYD Sri Hartamas 3S Centre integrates sales, service and spare parts under one roof.

BYD currently operates 12 body and paint outlets and ready to take steps to open more branches.
As the nation’s No.1 battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand for 3 consecutive years, this strategic growth reflects rising consumer trust both in BYD and electric mobility.

BYD Malaysia managing director Eagle Zhao said the milestones reflect the strong partnership between BYD and Sime Motors, as well as their shared commitment to raising the standards of EV ownership in Malaysia.
“A comprehensive network allows BYD to provide robust support throughout the ownership lifecycle as well as greater resale confidence.
“Each of our newest outlets are designed to deliver a more refined showroom experience, reflecting BYD’s promise to combine advanced technology with a premium, customer-centric environment,” he said.
He added, “As the nation’s leading BEV brand, our focus is clear as we move forward. We will prioritise the needs of Malaysians as we continue to grow our nationwide network and strengthen every customer touchpoint.
“We are also grateful for the trust of our BYD community and remain firm in supporting them with ever increasing convenience, confidence and care.”
In 2025, BYD delivered 14,407 vehicles, a 68% increase compared with 2024. The brand acquired its first 10,000 customers in 20 months and secured the next 10,000 in just 13 months. BYD rose from a Top 10 car brand in 2024 to become Malaysia’s sixth best-selling brand overall in 2025 and the No. 4 non-national brand. The company is on track to reach 30,000 Malaysian customers by April 2026.
BYD’s investment in aftersales infrastructure addresses customer concerns about maintenance and downtime, with a pool of 80 EV-certified technicians, alongside a centralised parts warehouse, ensuring shorter waiting time and service transparency coupled with the assurance that their vehicles are in expert hands.
In line with more showroom openings in 2026, BYD Sime Motors will launch BYD Mansion in Macalister, Penang, a flagship outlet that will feature the integration of local cultural elements into its design philosophy, creating a premium, unique space.
