Twenty-five former and current Miss Malaysia queens will be performing at the Miss Malaysia Charity Night 2019 to raise funds for Pink Heart Care Centre (PHCC), a welfare home for elderly at Manhattan Ballroom of Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on April 3, 2019 at 7.30 pm

The beauties will be showcasing their talents in song-and-dance performances as well as skits in a 90-minute-long variety show.

The target is to raise RM500,000 from the event.

Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, who initiated the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant in 1990 with the main purpose of promoting tourism, culture and friendship said the event showed the caring side of delegates through their participation in charity projects. A total of 108 Miss Malaysia queens have been crowned until 2018.

As part of CSR program, this group of Miss Malaysia queens has been participating in a charity project called “Loving Sunday”, which started in 2014. Every last Sunday of the month, they will take turns to visit charitable homes bringing cheers and joy to the less fortunate.

After five years of providing this noble and selfless service to the needy and underprivileged, the Miss Malaysia queens felt it was time to establish their own centre for old folks, to be named “Pink Heart Care Centre”.

The home which is expected to be operational in August 2019, will provide shelter for 20 old folks (ages 65 and above) who are without next of kin or dependents.

The initial set-up of the first Pink Heart Care Centre will be a 2-storey corner lot terrace house in the Klang Valley. The estimated budget to operate the home, with 20 residents, a supervisor and three local stay-in caretakers, and operating expense including rental, F & B, transport, electricity and others is in the region of RM35,000 per month.

The home welcomes contributions, in cash or kind, from members of the public. Cheque donations to be made payable to Pink Heart Care Centre or online donation to RHB Bank Berhad, Account No. 214-174-0006275-9.
