Local retail brand Apom (A Piece of Malaysa) has announced the return of its #Empatbelas campaign this year, with a fun and interactive treasure hunt.
The annual Merdeka-Malaysia Day initiative celebrates not just local talent but also the vibrant spirit and pride of Malaysia’s 14 states through the unity of art and cultural diversity.
Once again enlisting 14 of Malaysia’s most talented creative minds via its #Empatbelas campaign, Apom showcases a collection of reimagined home states as iconic movie posters.
This innovative twist brings together humor, creativity and state pride in unprecedented way.
“Over the years, #Empatbelas has spotlighted 42 creative talents from across Malaysia, fostering immense state pride.
“This year’s campaign saw over 50 enthusiastic entries from designers nationwide, highlighting the rich diversity and talent we celebrate.
“We are excited to see Malaysians come together, uncover hidden gems in their states, and engage in this dynamic celebration of our culture and heritage,” said Apom co-founder Chantelle Teoh.
In bringing Malaysia’s biggest poster hunt, Apom will release clues about one poster daily on social media, while physically placing it at a well-known landmark in the corresponding state.
Participants will have to decipher these clues to locate the iconic posters, capture creative photos or videos with them, and share their content on Instagram or TikTok using #empatbelas2024 #malaysiabiggestposterhunt.
Participants will stand a chance to win exclusive, limited-edition #Empatbelas prizes.
