Amelia Liew, a 40-year old mother of twin daughters from Selangor, has been crowned Mrs Oriental Universe 2024.
She was crowned by Lumiere International founder and CEO Justina Quek.
Held at Ramada Suites by Wyndham KLCC in Kuala Lumpur on August 7, Amelia will go on to compete in the 47th Mrs Universe 2024 in Incheon, South Korea on Oct 9, 2024.
“I am feeling proud and honoured to be crowned Mrs Oriental Universe 2024,” said the host-model-pageant director and founder.
Amelia, who started modelling at age 18, and entered her first pageant in 2009, said she is most excited about going back to Korea to compete.
“Exactly 10 years ago in 2014, I was in Korea for the Miss Asia Pacific World pageant. Who knows 10 years later in 2024, I am going back to Korea. So, I think a lot of things are fated as long you don’t give up.”
Amelia joined her first pageant Miss Malaysia Universe in 2009 and was placed top 8. It was the beginning of her pageant journey.
“I wanted more because I wanted to give myself more opportunities to explore the world of pageantry. Along these years I actually went through a lot of pageants, from Miss to Mrs and now a mum of two.”
Looking ahead, Amelia said she would go all out in preparing for the international pageant. “I’m really looking forward to it and I will give it my best shot.”
Lumiere International’s Justina Quek is the national director for Mrs Oriental Universe 2024.
Key sponsors and partners which supported the event included, among others, LeVo Fashion, Nottingheels, Ramada by Wyndham, Meridian Clinic, neubodi, The Unstoppable and Kai Professional Makeup.
