Below are two of the authentic dishes you can create in your own kitchen with Ayam Brand pastes.

Ayam Masak Merah with Nasi Minyak

Ingredients:

– 300g Chicken (mix thighs and breast)
– Ayam Brand Masak Merah Paste 180g
– Water 75ml
– Red onion (cut into ring format) 2 pcs
– Ayam Brand Garden peas as garnish

Preparation:

1. In a wok, add oil and cook the chicken medium well and set aside
2. Saute the onion.
3. Pour in the paste and water and mix well
4. Add in the chicken and stir until coated. Let it simmer
5. Garnish with garden peas
6. Serve with Nasi Minyak

Prep time: 5 minutes, cooking time:  20 minutes, serves: 4 to 5 pax

Asam Pedas Mackerel

Ingredients:

– 425g Ayam Brand mackerel
– 180g Ayam Brand Asam Pedas Paste
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
– 1 onion, sliced
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced
– 1 tomato, chopped
– 1 cup tamarind juice (or tamarind paste mixed with water)
– Salt to taste & 2 cups water
– 1-2 red chilies, sliced (optional)
– 1 tablespoon sugar (adjust to taste)
– Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Preparation:

1. Heat oil in a pot. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until soft.
2. Stir in Asam Pedas Paste and cook briefly. Add tomato and cook until soft.
3. Pour in tamarind juice and water. Bring to a boil.
4. Add mackerel. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until fish is cooked.
5. Adjust salt and sugar to taste. Add red chilies if desired.
6. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice.

Prep time: 10 minutes, cooking time:  20 minutes, serves: 4 to 5 pax
