A journey through taste at the ‘Flavours of Suria’ culinary showcase

Suria KLCC, Malaysia’s iconic experiential shopping destination, recently concluded its much-anticipated ‘Flavours of Suria’ culinary showcase, a 5-day celebration of gastronomic artistry held from August 21 to 27, 2024.

The campaign, part of Suria KLCC’s month-long F&B Campaign in August, invited media representatives and shoppers to explore the diverse dining experiences, with over 100 F&B outlets offering an extensive array of both local and international cuisines.

True to its tagline, “Always Something New,” Suria KLCC offered a series of hands-on workshops and exclusive tastings that left attendees inspired and delighted.

The highlights of ‘Flavours of Suria’ included:

DIN by Din Tai Fung
Suria KLCC, Lot 417 & 417A, Level 4

Xiao long bao.

The journey began with an immersive Xiao Long Bao workshop at the non-pork Taiwanese restaurant, where participants were guided through the intricate process of crafting delicate dumplings by the restaurant’s head chef.

During the session, guests were introduced to the popular Chocolate Xiao Long Bao, and the debut of a new addition – Sea Salt Cream dip. These offerings perfectly captured the theme of the event, blending traditional techniques with   contemporary and fusion tastes.

Fuel Shack
Signatures Food Court KLCC, Lot No. F201, Level 2

Aloha chicken.

The culinary adventure moved to homegrown Malaysian brandFuel Shack where participants donned aprons and took on the role of burger chefs. The hands-on workshop provided a unique opportunity to craft personalised burgers using 100% grass-fed Australian beef and lamb patties, complete with crispy fries and all the trimmings.

Cili Kampung
Suria KLCC, Lot 432 – 433 & OS401, Level 4

At Cili Kampung, media representatives were treated to an exclusive masterclass in authentic Malay cuisine. The session, led by Cili Kampung’s executive chef Rizal Zamani and Suria KLCC’s head chef Bella, focused on the art of preparing and plating traditional dishes.

Highlights included the signature Masak Lomak Beef, the flavorful Kerabu Kerang Pucuk Paku, and the indulgent Onde-Onde Puding Bakar, all complemented by the sweet and refreshing Sirap Pandan Kenduri, the restaurant’s signature beverage.

TGI Fridays
Suria KLCC, Lot 435, Level 4

The ‘Flavours of Suria’ campaign continued at TGI Fridays, where an interactive taco-making workshop marked the launch of their new menu. Guests created their own tacos from a variety of fresh ingredients, engaging with the brand in a dynamic and creative way.

The all-new TGI Fridays Fresh Mex menu features 11 authentic Mexican dishes designed to ignite the taste buds. From the sizzling flavours of street tacos to the rich Mexi bowls, this menu is a celebration of Mexico’s vibrant and diverse cuisine.

Imperial Chakri Palace
Suria KLCC, Lot 417B, Level 4

Later in the campaign, Imperial Chakri Palace offered a taste of royal Thai cuisine in a sophisticated tasting session that featured Mieng Kham Scallop, Premium Crab in Yellow Curry, and the exquisite Chakri Red Ruby Water Chestnut dessert. The elegance and uniqueness of the dishes left a lasting impression on attendees.

TIEN by Putien
Suria KLCC, Lot 434, 4th Floor

The grand finale of the ‘Flavours of Suria’ series took place at the pork-free Fujian Chinese restaurant, where media and shoppers were introduced to a special seasonal menu centred around fresh Chinese eel. The tasting featured four distinct preparations of eel. This exclusive experience was a fitting conclusion to a week of gastronomic exploration, leaving guests with a deep sense of satisfaction and anticipation for what Suria KLCC will offer next.
