As Malaysia’s borders re-open and the nation transitions to an endemic phase, Pavilion REIT Malls are excited to welcome visitors to celebrate Hari Raya with festive shopping, buka puasa reunions, festive fun and rewarding experiences.
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is showcasing ‘Eid In Harmony’ theme, which is an international, cross-cultural showcase in partnership with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to celebrate the heritage, culture, and traditions of both Malaysia and Iran.
As a follow-up to the Persian New Year celebration from April 2 – 7, 2022 with authentic Iranian products and interactive activities at the centre court, Pavilion KL has transformed it into a Hari Raya celebration with the launching of ‘Eid In Harmony’ on April 8, 2022 featuring both Malaysian and Iranian cultures through festive decor, gifts, activities and shopping experiences until May 16.
‘Eid In Harmony’ was launched by MOTAC deputy secretary general Datuk Saraya Arbi; alongside Iran Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Dato’ Joyce Yap, DBKL culture, arts, tourism and sports director Khairul Azmir Ahmad and Maybank Group Community Financial Services head of cards B. Ravintharan.
The launch was followed by a vibrant Malaysian Islamic Fashion Show by Yayasan Tuanku Nur Zahirah.
Among the immersive activities for visitors are the first live Persian carpet weaving demonstrations in Malaysia, enamelling on copper handicraft workshops, as well as musical and dance performances from both Malaysian and Iranian cultures.
The mall also partnered with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), Kraftangan Malaysia and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) to present local handicrafts, arts and culture, to promote Malaysia’s local craftsmanship at the ‘Eid In Harmony’ Marketplace at centre court. Shoppers may pick up Raya gifts and souvenirs from a variety of Malaysian and Iranian handicraft.
Pavilion KL retail chief executive officer Dato’ Joyce Yap said a major multiplier effect on several tourism-related sectors can be expected with the reopening of Malaysian borders to international visitors.
“Flights will resume, hotel room occupancies will rise, and as Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, we are confident that our foot traffic will increase significantly. Pavilion KL marks this long-awaited moment to present yet another magnificent festive campaign to our visitors,” she said.
Visitors can shop for their stylish Raya outfit at Variante, match it with a beautiful headscarf from Arzu or dUCK, and find their signature scent from Arabian Oud. They can break fast with a Middle Eastern iftar at Al Halabi Gourmet Restaurant and visit Pavilion KL’s newest cafe The Coffee Academics for coffee and dessert.
Additionally, shoppers can redeem Raya packets inspired by Iranian and Malaysian architectural motifs, with a minimum spend of RM150 (or RM100 with Maybank credit or charge cards).
Complimentary RM20 dining vouchers are also available with a minimum spend of RM200, and with a minimum spend of RM300, shoppers will receive a toiletries pouch and gift set.
