Pavilion Bukit Jalil launches its maiden Chinese New Year celebration to a roaring start welcoming shoppers to a prosperous, bountiful and joyful Chinese New Year.
The new mall spanning five retail floors with 1.8 million sq ft of retail space was officially open to the public on Dec 3 last year.
The mall’s Chinese New year decoration themed ‘Prosperous, Bountiful and Joyful’ is inspired by the celebration of Chinese culture.
Shoppers will be greeted with an abundance of auspicious Chinese lanterns of various shapes and sizes, beautiful cherry blossom trees as well as elements of traditional Chinese culture at Piazza, Level 3 and Centre Court, Level 2.
Gaze upon a traditional Chinese Palace as you walk down the Spanish Steps, take a stroll through the Spring Blossom Tunnel, hop on the Lantern Carousel or climb aboard the Lunar Train. These auspicious backdrops spread throughout the mall make for picture-perfect moments at every corner.
Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd retail chief executive officer and Pavilion Bukit Jalil retail planner Dato’ Joyce Yap said as the tiger is full of life and positive energy, luck and strength, the Year of the Tiger is apt for everyone to fully embody its spirit and drive to achieve and make progress.

Kicking off is a bonzai exhibition by the Persatuan Bonsai Dan Suiseki Malaysia at the Piazza (from now to Jan 18), and followed by Sonic Park Chinese New Year carnival also at the Piazza (Jan 22 to Feb 27).
A collaboration with Media Prima, one can meet their favourite TV hosts and announcers at the Yoohoo 2022 Roadshow on Jan 15.
For those looking to soak up the cultural festivities, there are weekly traditional stage performances such as dance and drum performances, lion dances and God of Prosperity walkabout.
