Tropicana donates over two tonnes of fresh produce for 10 charity homes

Tropicana Corporation Berhad, through its charity arm, Tropical Foundation, extends its reach to the underprivileged as part of its continued efforts to better serve the community amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Together with its agriculture arm, Purple Pumpie and Greenhouse, the Tropicana team donated over 2,000 kg of fresh produce to 10 underprivileged homes and a non-governmental organization in the Klang valley.

Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR) managing director Peter Kuan said it is even more important now to reach out and offer help to the underprivileged communities especially during these difficult times.

“The current restrictions on public movement and economic activities are challenging for many, especially the underprivileged communities.

“This is a good time for us to reach out and support in whatever way we can.

“With our small donations, we want to provide nutritious meals to the needy. Keeping one safe and eating healthily is paramount during this period,” said Kuan.

The pre-packed fresh produce included various meat and vegetable ranging from Patin fish, free-range chicken, tomato, kangkung, spinach, sweet potato leaves, brinjal and sweet corn.

“The fresh produce will be able to provide food for about 1,000 folks for a week,” Kuan pointed out.

He said the fresh produce was packed and boxed at TGCR which served as the collection centre where strict standard operating procedure was observed at all times.
