An enchanting evening Kitaro Live at Resorts World Genting 2025

Japanese musician-composer and winner of Grammy Award and Golden Globes Award Kitaro performed to a packed house at the 5,000-seat Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting (RWG) on Sept 20, 2025.

Known for his iconic soundscapes blending electronic artistry, traditional Japanese instruments and Western melodies, Kitaro, who performed at the same venue last year, continues to enchant and captivate his Malaysian audiences with his ethereal compositions and spellbinding performances.

When the stage lights dimmed, Kitaro showed up and delivered his diverse repertoire that conveyed messages of peace, unity and spirituality.

Kitaro, 72, whose real name is Masanori Takahashi, performed a total of 14 tracks, including the famous Taiwanese classic hit song “Jiu Gan Kan Biu Bo” (酒干倘卖无 Any liquor bottle for sale).

The crowd erupted in cheers when Kitaro played the iconic masterpiece “Matsuri”.

He closed the night of his performance with an encore number titled “Reimei”.

After the final encore, it was time to say goodbye. Kitaro said, “Terima kasih (thank you) for your continued support and I hope to see you again,” as he and his band bowed and waved to the audience before they walked off stage with loud applause from the crowd for the enchanting performance.
