The Offline 16 ESG event series jointly organized by VitaHealth Malaysia and Tropicana Corp Bhd has been gaining popularity and traction since its first kick-off in 2024.
This first-of-its-kind event pays homage to World Mental Health by the World Health Organization, promoting mental health and wellness.
Entering its second year, Offline 16 has recorded a total of 1,320 participants so far. Its recent flagship event held on August 16, 2025 at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR), Petaling Jaya saw 310 participants played pickleball alongside VitaHealth Ambassadors – Olympian Pearly Tan and Malaysia’s top pickleball player Colin Wong.
Participants engaged themselves in a great range of enthralling activities over the 7-hour Offline period aimed at assisting participants to disconnect from digital devices, recharge and reconnect with the world around them.
Building on this momentum and in alignment with the companies’ ESG commitments, this year’s movement is centred around pickleball challenges, attracting many fans and participants.
The event, held from 11am to 8pm, featured open-play pickleball challenges at the new pickleball courts at TGCR. Other activities included yoga, piloxing, body combat, live jazz music, a recycling workshop, health screenings, DIY arts and crafts, mental wellness games, and a relaxation zone.
Participants also received exclusive goodies worth over RM300 and lucky draw prizes worth RM25,000.

Since the beginning of the year, Offline 16 events held included a nature retreat at FRIM Kepong (June 21), beach cleanup at tanjong Aru Beach, Sabah (June 28) and pickleball challenges in Penang and Singapore.
The Offline 16 finale event is scheduled for October 2025.
Dr KS Beh, chief executive officer of VitaHealth (Malaysia & Singapore) and founder of Offline 16, said Offline 16 is part of their ESG commitment to promote mental wellness and nurture a stronger, more connected community.
“To date, we have clocked 41 ofline hours across seven events, engaging 1,320 participants. This is not just a digital detox, it is a joy reset because the best moments do not happen on screen, they happen when we are fully present,” he said.

Ixora Ang, managing director of Tropicana sales, marketing and business development said, “At Tropicana, our mission is to create sustainable, livable townships that truly support the people who call them home.
“ESG isn’t just about the environment and governance; it is about the people, too. OFFLINE 16 shows how this vision goes beyond buildings; it’s about giving everyone a chance to unplug, reconnect, and care for their wellbeing together.”
“We are proud to champion this wellness and ESG movement with VitaHealth, together with the support from our community-conscious arm, Tropicana Foundation and our event sponsor, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.”
Ang added, “We are also happy to sponsor Tropicana employees, joining this event and cultivating good mental and physical health.
“In line with our mantra ‘Redefining the Art of Living, Caring and Sharing’, we remain committed to growing this positive movement, and we warmly welcome more corporate partners to join us.”
The National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2023 report revealed that, in Asia, over 6 in 10 individuals are at high risk for mental health challenges, while 1 in 6 children face mental health issues. Digital dependency adds fuel to the fire, with heavy screen use linked to anxiety, depression and social isolation.
According to the WHO World Mental Health Surveys, over 75% of people in low to middle-income countries don’t receive the mental health care they need. Offline 16 aims to raise awareness to rising mental health risks by making preventive mental wellness simple, practical, and accessible through real-world experiences that encourage people to unplug, reconnect and build healthy habits.
This meaningful event was brought to life with the support of retail partners BIG Pharmacy and Caring Pharmacy, along with official pickleball equipment partner Facolos.
