The Curve shopping mall shared the spirit of the fasting month by distributing 1,200 packed containers of ‘bubur lambuk’ (rice porridge) to the Surau Mutiara Damansara, Mutiara Damansara Police Station, Damansara Police Station and shoppers at the Curve for iftar (breaking of fast) as part of the mall’s community outreach efforts.
Apart from bubur lambuk, groceries and ‘duit raya’ were also distributed to the less-privileged children at Pusat Jagaan Kasih Harapan Kota Damansara.
The mall was joined by Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd (Adabi) which sponsored all ingredients, in the preparation of bubur lambuk which took place outside the mall on April 29, 2021.
Jazmi Kamarudin, senior general manager, property management and investment at Boustead Properties Berhad said, “One of the best ways to celebrate the peaceful and compassionate spirit of Ramadan is by sharing sustenance with others for the breaking of fast.
“In these challenging times, we are grateful to be able to still come together and make a difference in the community we are a part of through our humble offering this year.”
The traditional dish, based on a recipe by Adabi’s own chef Irwan Mohd Nor, was prepared and distributed by a team comprising Adabi and the Curve management and staff.
The distribution was conducted with strict observance of standard operating procedure (SOP) imposed by the authorities during the current movement control order period.
Adabi’s promotion and corporate media manager Roshidi Zabidi said preparing the dish is a time-honoured custom for Adabi they are happy to support the Curve in this corporate social responsibility programme allowing them to foster camaraderie among the Mutiara Damansara community during the Ramadan.
