McDonald’s Malaysia celebrated International French Fry Day, which falls on July 11, 2025, with a Bukit Bintang golden takeover, turning one of KL’s busiest corners into a celebration of crisp and golden goodness.
On the night of July 10, the entire area along the Jalan Bukit Bintang-Sultan Ismail intersection, a vibrant and bustling area in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, was transformed into a dazzling tribute to the iconic McDonald’s French Fries with all major DOOH screens in the area lit up in brilliant golden hues, showcasing the McDonald’s famous fries, French fries.

The event unveiled the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal with images being displayed on the giant LED screens and digital panels.
Specially created for International French Fry Day, the latest French fry promotion, McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal lets fans enjoy the XXL French Fries, paired with a refreshing drink and side.

“We know how much Malaysians love our fries. It’s never enough! That’s exactly what inspired the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal.
“We wanted to create something truly memorable that brings people together over the one item they can never resist.
“Whether it’s with friends or family, the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal is our way of saying thank you and celebrating those joyful moments with everyone,” said McDonald’s Malaysia chief marketing officer Chin Mei Lee.

In celebrating the occasion, and as part of a promotion for the McDonald’s XXL Fries and the Fans Fries Meal, McDonald’s staff from the Bukit Bintang restaurant gave out free samples of their double extra large XXL Fries to people passing by near the front entrance of Bukit Bintang Monorail station.

The staff also handed out free fries at the entrance of the Bukit Bintang restaurant.
