Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) founder and president Jason Hee and his delegation held a meeting with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) in Putrajaya on 15th November 2018.
The delegation comprising management committee, pageant ambassadors, Miss Malaysia Kebaya finalists, collaboration partners, media and production team held talks with Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, secretary-general of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
The discussion and opinion sharing focused among others on cooperation and support to promote the kebaya as a beautiful traditional attire that every Malaysian women are proud to wear.
“We learn, discuss and propose many things together with Datuk Rashidi and we agree to work together in upcoming events. We are honoured Miss Malaysia Kebaya will be invited to participate in future events organised by the Ministry,” said Jason.
He said Miss Malaysia Kebaya will submit the MMK 2019 Calender of Events to work hand in hand with MOTAC and thanked Datuk Rashidi and the Ministry for approving the first National Kebaya proposal.
“Today is just the beginning of our collaboration. We have more creative and practical ideas to propose to the Ministry from time to time. Next year we are going to submit our International Kebaya World activities.
“With the Ministry recognition, we will now work even harder for the nation to build a glorious Malaysia and put our beloved Malaysia to the world map,” he said.
Datuk Rashidi said he welcomed the visit by Miss Malaysia Kebaya delegation to the Ministry to promote kebaya as a traditional costume to all Malaysian women and to the world.
