Malaysia’s favourite chocolate malt powder beverage, Milo has made a significant milestone by attaining the Healthier Choice Logo (HCL) certification.
In a statement, Nestle Malaysia said the accomplishment reflects Milo’s unwavering commitment to supporting the nutritional needs of Malaysians through continuous product innovation and renovation while embracing the goodness of the “healthier choice” beverage.
“Milo’s attainment of the HCL certification showcases the brand’s commitment to consistently uphold its nutritious goodness, ensuring that consumers can savour the natural goodness of malt barley, milk and cocoa, as well as vitamins and minerals with every sip,” said the statement.
“By meeting stringent nutrient criteria such as reduced sugar, sodium, and fat as well as increased fibre content, Milo reaffirms its position as an energising and nutritious beverage that empowers Malaysians to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle,” it added.
As part of an initiative by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, the HCL certification aims to assist consumers in making healthier food choices, and is subjected to renewal for every two years.
Ng Su Yen, the business executive officer, Milo, Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad stated: “Attaining the Healthier Choice certification is a testament to our relentless pursuit of meeting evolving nutritional standards to encourage healthier lifestyles, while maintaining the iconic Milo taste that Malaysians have grown up with.”
She added, “With the HCL certification, we encourage Malaysians to make informed decisions for their health and kickstart their day on a wholesome note with the energising goodness of Milo.”
As Malaysians continue to prioritise health and wellness, Milo’s accomplishment in attaining the Healthier Choice certification is aligned with the nation’s efforts to encourage healthier lifestyles, setting a benchmark and inspiring the food industry to follow suit.
