Canon Marketing Malaysia, a renowned leader in camera technology and imaging solutions, has embarked on a strategic collaboration with Tourism Perak Management Bhd (TPMB) to bolster Perak’s tourism industry and leverage Canon’s imaging solutions for the upcoming “Visit Perak Year 2024” campaign.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by TPMB chief executive officer Nurmalis Musa and Canon Marketing Malaysia president and CEO Shunji Yoshikai at Kafe Lake View, Tasik Cermin 2 in Ipoh, Perak on Dec 22, 2023.

This timely strategic collaboration will enable Canon to play a pivotal role as the strategic partner and sponsor for the state’s “Visit Perak Year 2024” which aims to bolster Perak’s tourism industry and leverage Canon’s imaging solutions to draw visitors, both domestic and foreign, to Perak and promote it as a premier destination for heritage- and nature-based experiences and touring holidays.

“We are eager to work hand-in-hand with TPMB to showcase Perak’s charm and allure to the world. The signing of the MOA embodies our corporate philosophy of ‘Kyosei’, which emphasises living and working harmoniously for the common good.

“It is through collaborative efforts that we strive to not only showcase the beauty of Perak but also to contribute positively to the communities and environments we touch upon,” said Shunji Yoshikai.

Nurmalis Musa said the collaboration signified a unified effort to promote Perak’s beauty.

“Together with Canon, we aim to captivate audiences worldwide and invite travellers to experience the treasures Perak has to offer,” she said.

The MOU, spanning 12 months, extends beyond mere sponsorship to collaborations on workshops, competitions and the provision of Canon cameras as prizes for upcoming competitions and for TPMB’s use.

Canon and TPMB will co-host photography and videography competitions, along with tailor-made workshops for Perak’s industry participants. These initiatives aim to illuminate Perak’s captivating narrative through visual storytelling, fostering a deeper appreciation of its diverse cultural heritage and captivating attractions.
