PETALING JAYA – With the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, 250 senior citizens including the disabled from around Sea Park and Paramount Garden in Petaling Jaya were invited as special guests to the celebration
In conjunction with the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, 250 senior citizens including the disabled from around Sea Park and Paramount Garden in Petaling Jaya were invited as special guests to the celebration on September 6, 2014.
The elderly, aged 60 and above, were presented with a 5kg packet of rice each as tokens of appreciation by the event co-organisers Section 21 Sea Park Residents Association (RA), Rukun Tetangga (RT) Seksyen 21 Sea Park and Sea Park Poh Toh Association.
“This is our small gesture to bring warmth and happiness to the elderly. They have contributed much to our community and this is our way to show care and respect to them,” said Cliff Yin, deputy chairman of RT Seksyen 21 Sea Park.
As many as 600 people turned up at the RT service centre in Jalan 21/19 to celebrate the festivity with the elderly.
It was a time of fun and singing at the karaoke session as oldies and evergreens were played for the enjoyment of the senior citizens.
Besides fried meehoon, prawn crackers and the traditional mooncakes, committee members distributed goodie bags to everyone present.
Guests who joined in the celebration included BN/MCA Petaling Jaya Utara division chairman Tan Gim Tuan and advisor Dato’ Dr. Wong Sai Hou.
