The grand finale of Miss Chinese World 2023 will take place at Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur on May 20.

In the lead up to the pageant final, the contestants from different countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and host Malaysia made an in-store visit at Cold Storage in Suria KLCC and Mercato Pavilion on May 14.

On hand to welcome the 17 beauties were representatives from Cold Storage and Mercato – the Gold sponsor and official supermarket for Miss Chinese World 2023 pageant.

During the visit, the contestants were treated to food tasting of the grocer’s fresh produce and food products.

Started in 2005, the Miss Chinese World international beauty pageant was founded by Tan Sri Danny Ooi of Malaysia and is organised with the aim of gathering Chinese beauties from around the world in the celebration and remembrance of Chinese culture, values and traditions. It is also a platform to promote peace, goodwill, tourism and friendship among the participants.

The supermarket visit was part of contestants’ pageant activities which also include visits to various sponsors outlets, tourist attractions and landmarks such as Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown and heritage lane Kwai Chai Hong, Thean Hou Temple, Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Ancestral Hall Temple and exposure to local cultural experiences.

The winners for Miss Chinese World 2023 will be selected by a panel of judges comprising seven former Miss Malaysia beauty queens who have made their names in various professions, namely entrepreneur, film producer, actress, influencer and businesswomen

The champion, first and second runner-up will receive cash prize of RM8,000, RM5,000 and RM2,000 respectively as well as sponsored prizes worth more than RM30,000.

Apart from the Top 3 winners, there will be also a total of 13 subsidiary titles adopted by sponsors to be awarded.
