In the spirit of Ramadhan, Alamanda Shopping Centre, Putrajaya organised a joyful ‘buka puasa’ event for underprivileged children from Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim/Miskin Rukaiyah, Bangi on April 13, 2023.

Over 40 children, aged eight to 17, were welcomed to the Centre Court by Alamanda Shopping Centre general manager Pang Sook Fong.

One of the most exciting moments for the children were when they were taken for a raya shopping to select their new clothing and shoes for Hari Raya. Their faces were beamed with joy throughout the experience as they chose their outfits and shoes themselves.

After the shopping spree, the children were treated to a traditional ‘dikir barat’ performance.

They also received ‘duit raya’ and gifts sponsored by the mall tenants.

The event concluded with a ‘buka puasa’ session for the children at a restaurant.

“As a community-focused organization, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us all these years. We are honoured to have the opportunity to organise this breaking fast event for the children and their carers,” said Suria KLCC Sdn executive director Andrew Brien.

He added, “We hope that our small contribution will bring smiles to the faces of these children and inspire others to do the same. Finally, I would also like to thank our retail partners who have generously contributed to make this event a success.”
