McDonald’s Malaysia has officially launched its Menu Rahmah on March 8, 2023, in support of the government’s effort to help reduce the cost of living for the public
Malaysians from all walks of life can now enjoy McDonald’s meals at an affordable price of only RM5.
The McDonald’s Menu Rahmah initiative was launched by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub at McDonald’s Mutiara Damansara DT.
In his speech, Salahuddin said: “We are very pleased to see global brands such as McDonald’s joining the government’s Menu Rahmah initiative, as an effort to provide affordable meals to those in need.
“Throughout the years, we have always known McDonald’s as a brand that is committed to giving back to the community, and we hope with its participation, more industry players will be encouraged to participate in this initiative as well.”
As part of its Menu Rahmah offering, McDonald’s Malaysia will be introducing three meal options for only RM5, which include:
- Chicken burger and small iced lemon tea
- Bubur ayam McD and small iced lemon tea
- McEgg and small iced lemon tea
McDonald’s Malaysia vice president and chief marketing officer Melati Abdul Hai said the restaurant’s participation in the Menu Rahmah initiative was part of its commitment in helping and supporting the community with the rising living cost issue.
“As a brand that is close to Malaysians’ hearts, McDonald’s Malaysia is pleased to support this meaningful initiative. With the launch of McDonald’s Menu Rahmah, it enables us to provide our meals to Malaysians from all walks of life, as we believe everyone should be provided with equal opportunity to enjoy our meals anytime, anywhere,” he said.
At the event, McDonald’s treated orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Peribadi Mulia, Kajang to the Menu Rahmah meal.
McDonald’s Menu Rahmah meals is now available all day at its restaurants nationwide.
In conjunction with the Menu Ramah launch, McDonald’s also announced the return of its Ramadan menu – Chicken Foldover and Beef Foldover – which will be available beginning March 8.
