Sea Park folks get surprise visit from the God of Prosperity

KUALA LUMPUR – Petaling Jaya’s Section 21 Sea Park folks got all excited when Choy San Yeh made a surprise visit to the commercial centre handing out ang pow on Feb 15, 2014.

Petaling Jaya’s Section 21 Sea Park folks got all excited when Choy San Yeh made a surprise visit to the commercial centre handing out ang pow on Feb 15, 2014.

Choy San Yeh or the God of Prosperity is a popular Chinese deity revered by the community for bringing good luck, wealth and happiness.

The people went gaga over Choy San Yeh’s appearance which they see as a good start for a prosperous year with some even took pictures with him.

There was also a lion dance performance in the market by University of Malaya (UM) Lion Dance Troupe to add to the festive mood  while mandarin oranges were also distributed by the committee members of Rukun Tetangga (RT) Section 21 Sea Park which organized the event.

“This is the first time we have ever organised an ang pow giveaway by the God of Prosperity in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration and we are delighted with the strong support and response shown by the community, ” said RT Section 21 Sea Park chairman Gan Keng.

Gan Keng said one thousand ang pow packets with RM1 in each of them and another one thousand oranges in all were distributed.
