Beaconhouse Southeast Asia has announced the appointment of its new regional director, Basit Humayun to oversee and manage the operations of Beaconhouse schools across Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
In a statement, the international school said Basit takes over his role as regional director of Beaconhouse Southeast Asia as of November 2022, overseeing 22 schools across Southeast Asia.
It said Basit brings with him more than 20 years of experience in finance, strategy and corporate management across a diverse range of sectors. He has previously served as financial controller of an airline and worked extensively on strategy development, execution and business development.
Of his appointment Basit said, “I am excited with this new role and look forward to building on the great foundation and growth potential in this region.
“With this new entrusted responsibility, I am fully focused on positioning Beaconhouse at the very top of the education space.
“Over the years, I have observed the great strides that The Beaconhouse Group has taken and their tremendous growth, even in the midst of a pandemic and I hope that with my experience and knowledge, I would be able to elevate this further.”
Prior to assuming his role as regional director, Basit served as the chief financial officer of Beaconhouse-Yamsaard Thailand. Under his watch and financial stewardship, the schools under the Thailand operations have achieved consistent growth and outstanding results.
Basit joined The Beaconhouse Group from his previous role as chief financial officer of one of the largest dairy businesses in Pakistan.
Making complete use of his finance expertise, Basit has successfully progressed in his career and brings strategic foresight to build on the success of the 15 Beaconhouse schools homed in Malaysia.
He looks to help navigate the organisation onto the next level using his successful track record and depth of international experience.
Basit is a Bachelor’s of Science graduate from Lahore, Pakistan. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and a Chartered Financial Analyst with CFA Institute.
