The Curve presents its 2022 Chinese New Year campaign themed ‘Spring Theatre Festival’ taking inspiration from the art form of Chinese opera.

The Curve is ringing in the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit with a campaign themed “Spring Theatre Festival”, taking inspiration from the art form of Chinese opera.

From December 31, 2022, until January 24, 2023, visitors can take a step back into time as the Curve’s centre court is transformed into a dazzling scene filled with colourful elements that showcase the rich heritage of the traditional opera.

Auspicious touches, including Chinese lanterns and cherry blossom trees, make as beautiful backdrops to snap Instagram photos.

Taking a leaf out of Chinese opera, the Curve’s signature musical performance this time is a unique showcase filled with vibrant moves and mesmerizing costumes to entertain shoppers on weekends and public holidays at 2.00pm and 5.00pm.

From January 14 onwards, one can also look forward to the highly-anticipated acrobatic lion dance performance by the Khuan Loke Dragon and Lion Dance Association, which takes place on weekends and public holidays at 6.00pm.

“Being in multicultural Malaysia gives us a wonderful opportunity to appreciate and embrace the different festive occasions and special traditions of each culture. We always strive to respect each occasion and create an atmosphere for everyone to enjoy at our family-oriented mall,” said Boustead Properties Bhd property management and investment senior general manager Jazmi Kamarudin.

Jazmi added: “This time as we usher in the Chinese New Year, we are happy to create a lively and memorable environment at the Curve for families, loved ones and friends to gather, celebrate reunion dinners and shop at our diverse retail outlets.”

Another nostalgic experience this year is the traditional instrumental performances every Sunday and public holidays at 7.30pm, while one can look out for God of Prosperity during his walkabouts on weekends and public holidays at 1.00pm, 4.30pm and 6.45pm.

A special children’s dance performance is also set to excite the little ones on January 7 and 8 at 1.00pm and 4.30pm.

Additionally, there are a variety of special promotions from retailers and vendors at the centre court throughout the campaign period, ranging from Chinese New Year traditional apparel and accessories to cookies and fragrances.

The Curve is offering shoppers a chance to be part of the redemption program where those who spend RM138 and above in a maximum of two receipts on the same day at any outlet in the mall are allowed to redeem a set of ang pow packets.
