Tis the season of giving and Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) recently paid a visit to Rumah Hope, Petaling Jaya to bring festive cheer and provide free health checks for the home’s underprivileged children.

More than 30 children at the home benefitted from the free checkup by a team of doctors, nurses and staff volunteers from SJMC, with the intention to give the children a healthy start to the new year.

The screening included physical check of the children’s height and weight, as well as eye checks which included a refraction assessment, colour vision test and fundus photography.

The highlight of SJMC’s visit was a special magic show and the appearance of the cuddly hospital mascot, Teddy Paws who delighted the children with their antics.

As a scrumptious ending to the day, the children and their caretakers were treated to a Christmas buffet.

SJMC chief executive officer Bryan Lin said, “As a trusted healthcare provider for families, the health of every child is close to our hearts, including those who may not always have easy access to healthcare.

“Our community effort this time gives us an opportunity to not only ensure that the children in this home are well but also spread this festive joy with a partner who shares the same passion for children.”
