No price hike for Massimo White Sandwich Loaf, price increase only for all its other bread products

Price of Massimo White Sandwich Loaf will not increase. However starting October 15, 2022, the price of all other Massimo bread products will increase from between 10 sen to 60 sen in tandem with other bakery brands.

In a statement, Italian Baker Sdn Bhd, maker of Massimo breads and baked goods, said it would help ease inflationary pressure on Malaysian households by maintaining the retail selling price of its popular Massimo White Sandwich Loaf at RM2.80 for 400g and RM4 for 600g.

“However, effective Oct 15, the price of all other Massimo bread products will increase from between 10 sen to 60 sen, and the approach is in tandem with the rest of other bakery brands,” the statement said.

“As a caring and concerned corporate, The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd has decided to maintain the price of our popular White Sandwich Loaf as white bread should remain affordable and accessible to all, especially during economically challenging times.

“We would like to assure consumers that they will enjoy the same great taste and the same excellent quality at the same affordable price,” said The Italian Baker chairman Jeremy Goon in the statement.

He said the global and local inflationary pressures have affected the company, as well as other industries. The company cited escalating logistics costs and rising prices for raw material, including all bakery ingredients.

“We have held out from raising prices for as long as we could, and will maintain the price of the Massimo White Sandwich Loaf for the foreseeable future.

The company last increased its bread prices in January this year. It increased the price of 400g white bread from RM2.38 to RM2.80 and 600g white bread from RM3.35 to RM4.00.
