NCT Group inks five MoUs for Selangor Smart Industrial Park project

NCT Group gears up for upcoming Selangor Smart Industrial Park project by inking MoUs with strategic partners.

NCT Group has entered into five strategic partnerships for the upcoming Selangor Smart Industrial Park (SSIP) project.

The property developer said the partnerships are aimed to support the group’s vision of offering the highest standards of services to create a sustainable, efficient and productive working environment.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) was signed between NCT Group and Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Furniweb Holdings Limited, KS Industrial Tools Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KS Industrial), Solarvest Holdings Berhad (Solarvest) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).

NCT Group founder and managing director Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy said the partnerships forged demonstrated the group’s commitment in providing the best facilities at SSIP to boost efficiency and maintain a sustainable and resilient eco-friendly ecosystem.

“As a forward-looking developer, this marks a step in the right direction as we are able to deliver our promise of developing a robust and future ready industrial park in the heart of Selangor’s Golden Triangle.

“With solid plans mapped out in the coming months, we are confident that these collaborations and combined expertise will translate the vision of SSIP into reality,” he said.

Through the MoU signed with Solarvest, the group aims to develop 1,000 units of solar-ready factories and warehouses at SSIP to achieve shared decarbonisation ambitions.

This will be the first solar equipped managed industrial park development of its kind.

The MoU also comprises the provision of decarbonisation services across NCT’s facilities in Malaysia.

The collaboration with Solarvest marks the first step in setting the foundation for NCT Group to expand its opportunities by exploring future prospects in the areas of renewable energy such as solar and bioenergy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency and electric mobility.

Solarvest executive director and group chief executive officer Davis Chong Chun Shiong said the SSIP development can reduce the industrial and commercial carbon footprint quite significantly.

The partnership with Furniweb Holdings Limited will pave the way for NCT Group to benefit from Furniweb’s capabilities as an energy efficient service provider at SSIP.

The MoU with two tertiary institutions, namely UTAR and APU, will help the NCT Group to expand its 4.0 Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiatives.

The MoUs are set to play a crucial role in shaping the local workforce in tandem with the changing workplace landscape through the utilisation of smart technology and enhanced efficiency to enable greater productivity while contributing to higher income levels.

The MoU signed with KS Industrial is for the installation of its DéScale technology at SSIP which focuses on rectifying solutions for hard water such as scale build-up and corrosion as well as cooling tower water sanitization to prevent the growth of algae, bacteria and viruses in cooling water.
