KUALA LUMPUR – Pageant director Nwabuike Uchechukwu said the pageant was also an opportunity to give back to the Malaysian community
The Miss Africa Malaysia Pageant, which takes place at Bentley Music Auditorium in Mutiara Damansara on 25th October, 2019, features nine finalists from seven different African countries, aged 19 to 28 years, who are studying or working in Malaysia.
Miss Africa Malaysia 2019 director Nwabuike Uchechukwu said the pageant brings together Africans representing different African countries and helps to promote the rich cultural diversity and beauty of Africa.
“We are excited to announce that the third edition of Miss Africa Malaysia is back to find a new beauty queen with “Beauty, Brains and Grace” which is our theme this year.
“The contestants, who individually represent different African countries and different cultural backgrounds, will have their moment in the spotlight to showcase not only their full potential but also the diversity and beauty of African culture through cultural display and unity dance,” he said.
Contestants will be judged based on beauty, personality, talent, catwalk and modelling and Q&A, among others.
Prizes packages for top three winners include a modelling contract, 3D/2N island trip and cash prize of RM2,000, RM1,500 and RM1,000 for the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
The five subsidiary titles that will be awarded are Miss Personality (Congeniality), Miss Photogenic (online voting), Best Talent, Best Evening Walk and People’s Choice.
Uche said the pageant was also an opportunity to give back to the Malaysian community.
“We strongly believe in giving back to the Malaysian community by the finalists and winners through charitable causes such as fund raising for the underprivileged,” he said.
The Miss Africa Malaysia beauty pageant is organized by Eventures Concept, an event planning company in Malaysia.
