4th Asia Pacific International Short Films Festival 2025 announces award winners

The Asia Pacific International Arts Festival held the Premiere Ceremony and Awards Presentation of the 4th Asia Pacific International Short Films Festival 2025 at Starmax Hall, Dadi Cinema Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on Dec 7, 2025.  

The event brought together industry professionals, film directors, actors, actresses, VIP guests, film enthusiasts and media practitioners, and a celebration honouring and recognising excellence in creative and imaginative short films.

Special Jury Award winner Lorraine Sugandi For “Three Little Ducks” and Best Actress Anya Ong Hyu Tone for “Come Find Me”.

A total of 13 awards were presented for Favourite Female/Male Character, Best Female/Male Character, Best Actress/Actor, Best Supporting Actress/Actor, Best Leading Actress/Actor, Special Jury Award, Best New Media and Best Short Film.

The event began with the screenings of three new media trailers “Blood Reunion” (血色同学会), “Entering the Palace at Sixteen” (年十六入宫) and “Operation Hurricane” (飓风行动) and followed by premiere screening of three short films named “Three Little Ducks”, “Come Find Me’ and “Her Frame”.

Best Male Character Chan Har Yorng and Favourite Female Character Jennabelle Lee Chen Xuan, both for “Her Frame”.

Alyna Kerk Zhi Tong was named the Best Leading Actress, while Best Leading Actor went to Nomi Gu for “Entering the Palace at Sixteen”

The festival’s top prize, Best Short Film, was awarded to Come Find Me, directed by Luke Wong. The film was an entry from Malaysia.

Best Supporting Actor Jackson Chan En Ze for “Three Little Ducks”.

Meanwhile, the Best New Media award went to “Blood Reunion” (血色同学会).

Three Special Jury Award prizes were presented to Choong U-Faye, Till Guan and Lorraine Sugandi.

The Asia Pacific International Short Films Festival aims to foster cultural exchange and creative diversity through the medium of short films.

This year’s festival received a number of submissions with films from across the Asia Pacific region, including China, Singapore, United States of America, Indonesia and Malaysia.

“Blood Reunion” (血色同学会) wins the Best New Media Award at the 4th Asia Pacific International Short Films Festival 2025.

The winners were assessed and selected by a jury of film industry experts.

The richness and cultural diversity of the films presented this year has brought new voices and fresh perspectives onto the stage in captivating audiences in today’s cinema landscape.

Asia Pacific International Films Festival founder and director Swear Ly Cham.

At a press conference, festival founder and organiser Swear Ly Cham said the Asia Pacific Short Film Festival has opened up many opportunities for a new generation of young actors to succeed in the industry.

“This new generation of young actors will continue the legacy of becoming successful film stars in the future,” she said.
