168 Park Mall, Selayang, which launched on Dec 11 last year, has unveiled its first Chinese New Year celebration campaign named “Rasa Prosperous Together”, showcasing its dedication to diversity and inclusivity.

The vibrant theme symbolizes unity, harmony and the prosperity that comes with celebrating cultural richness in the community.

Tan and Lum jointly beat the drums to launch the event.

“We’re excited to celebrate our first Chinese New Year with the Selayang community and beyond. With our theme ‘Rasa Prosperous Together,’ we’re highlighting the beauty of cultural diversity while wishing everyone good fortune and success in the year ahead,” said 168 Park Mall chief executive officer Edward Lum.

The “Rasa Prosperous Together” campaign draws inspiration from traditional Chinese values of unity and abundance while incorporating modern elements that represent the multicultural spirit of Selayang.

Lum added, “The word “Rasa” not only evokes a sense of flavor and experience but also connects to the collective joy of sharing food and traditions—central to Lunar New Year celebrations.”

The mall is adorned with symbolic red and gold elements, including lanterns, intricate Chinese knots and blooming cherry blossoms, signifying good fortune, happiness and wealth.

The thunderous beat of 8 Drums performance brings the crowd to life.

Visitors can expect to enjoy a variety of cultural performances and activities, including lion dances, traditional music and other festive performances that bring the essence of the Chinese New Year celebrations to life every weekend starting from Jan 18 till Feb 9, 2025.

A distinctive feature of the celebration is the Lain Lion Dance, a specially curated lion dance show that features performers from different Malaysian cultures swap instruments in a stunning display of diversity and unity.

Visitors enjoy musical moments with traditional Chinese New Year melodies.

The name “168” is itself a nod to prosperity, as the numbers are considered auspicious in Chinese culture, symbolizing continuous wealth and success.

“168 Park Mall is true to its name as it aims to bring prosperity not only to its visitors but also to the surrounding community by fostering an inclusive environment where people from all walks of life can come together,” Lum said.
