Former Mrs Malaysia World 2017 Datin Harveen Kaur was the guest of honour at the ceremony.
14 finalists of Miss Petite Universe International Semenanjung 2020 (MPUIS) received their sashes at the official sash ceremony and press conference held at Swiss Garden Hotel Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur, the official venue sponsor, on 11 July 2020.
Miss Petite Universe International Semenanjung state director Param Saiji said the pageant was organised by Sun Production for single unmarried women who are 168 cm tall and below.
“Dedication and commitment from the contestants are very important. These qualities come from the desire to achieve success and are all the reason these gorgeous ladies are here today,” he said.

Present at the exquisite ceremony was the guest of honour Datin Harveen Kaur, a former beauty queen herself who was crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2017, VIP guests, judges, sponsors and partners.
Param, who is the founder of Sun Production, said the final 14 contestants from Semenanjung (peninsula) who have been selected unanimously by a panel of judges are vying to become the first Miss Petite Universe International Semenanjung 2020 at the pageant final that will be held on Sept 26 at Swiss Garden Hotel Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
“The finalists will undergo a comprehensive training programme ranging from catwalk, grooming to photoshoot. They will also be contributing to a good cause by participating in a charity event in Puchong on August 15.
“Contestants will show off their best in the traditional wear and evening gown segments. There will be no swimsuits segment.
“A panel of local and international judges, including from India and Singapore, will select the winner of the first Miss Petite Universe International Semenanjung 2020,” he said.
Param said the champion will walk away with cash prize worth RM2,500 and travel package sponsored by a travel agency, first runner-up RM2,000 and second runner-up RM1,500.
“There will also be seven subsidiary titles – Best Catwalk, Best Evening Gown, Miss Congeniality, Miss Fitness, Miss Social Media, among others up for grabs,” he added.
Param said the top five winners from Semenanjung will proceed to the Miss Petite Universe International Malaysia 2020 national grand finale scheduled in November in Miri, Sarawak. They will compete with representatives from Sabah and Sarawak for the national title and the chance torepresent the country at Miss Petite Universe International 2020 pageant world final that will take place in Mexico in December this year.
